Context

In 2011 responsive design was still a niche idea: Mashable would only call 2013 the Year of Responsive Web Design. At Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Editore we built the publisher’s new website mobile first, two years earlier.

The home page on desktop, tablet and mobile

My role

We were a team of five; on the front-end it was my intern and me, with web standards and jQuery.

The book page for "The Crime of a Soldier" on desktop, tablet and mobile

The hard part

Not the CSS: the integration with the back-end, and keeping many stakeholders aligned on a site that, for the first time, had to work on every screen.

The author page on desktop, the reading themes page on tablet and a category list page on mobile
